Telemedicine (Video Conferencing)

Eden Counseling Centers will be providing telemedicine services for the delivery of Medication Assisted Substance Abuse treatment. This will involve a one-time face-to-face assessment and subsequent follow-up appointments that will be scheduled and conducted via the telemedicine service.

Formally defined, telemedicine is the use of medical information exchanged from one site to another via electronic communications to improve a patient’s clinical health status. Telemedicine seeks to improve a patient's health by permitting two-way, real time interactive communication between the patient, and the physician or practitioner at the distant site. It includes a growing variety of applications and services using two-way video, smart phones, wireless tools and other forms of telecommunications technology.

For over 40 years, telemedicine has been used to bring healthcare services to patients in distant locations. Not only does telemedicine improve access to patients but it also allows physicians and health facilities to expand their reach, beyond their own offices. Given the provider shortages throughout the world--in both rural and urban areas--telemedicine has a unique capacity to increase service to millions of new patients

Housing

A major obstacle to recovery is the ever-present specter of relapse. Too many times well-intentioned people get into recovery only to find themselves unable to sustain their progress because they have returned to the living situation that gave birth to and supported their problems versus supporting their recovery. Many need to enter an environment that supports recovery as opposed to environments that support relapse.

Eden Counseling Centers offers recovery housing to its clients as an integral part of its program. Those attending Eden Counseling’s clinic may be eligible for residency. Outpatient support services will be offered to adults attempting to overcome mental illness, alcohol and/or substance abuse. Recovery housing works in support of our goal of breaking the cycle of addiction, relapse and recidivism by providing safe, sanitary and supportive housing. Eden Recovery Housing offers a stable environment that encourages individuals to embrace the healing process of their mind and body by inspiring a culture of support, empowerment and renewal in a sober, homelike atmosphere. This peer support begins with the applicant’s initial meeting with current residents of the home the applicant may be placed in. The introductions and conversation over dinner gives everyone an opportunity to get to know each other, ask questions and offer encouragement.
